Why do you write?
This is a really tough question to answer. I think for the writers friending meme I said something like 'because I have to," which is sort of true but sort of not... because I can actually go days without writing. I guess the real answer is that there's all this stuff in my head--stories and people and places and things--and I don't know what will happen to them if they don't get out. Maybe they'll rot and stink, like a dream deferred. Maybe they'll just die, and then I'll feel guilty, because they're real even if they're just in my head. Maybe they'll build up until the pressure in my mind is too intense and then I'll go crazy.

Mine tend to go about their lives if I don't write about them. Which I hope is a useful bit of trivia. ^-^

Hmm... I don't know, in that case it might be kinder to let them go about their lives instead of doing what I do to them XD

It always amazes me when I meet writers who get to have a say in their stories. Mine just... don't work that way. (Sometimes I get format and sometimes I get them to listen to me when I tell them "Do not go through the deep dark forest and traverse the pitch black cave to sneak past the dangerous treasure hoarding dragon and certainly do not try actually stealing part of the dragon's treasure". But usually I just get ignored and despair.)

Hehe, sometimes it works that way, too. Mostly what it is, really, is that the main characters do whatever they damn well please, but I can send other characters and situations at them to do nasty things.

Don't get to do that either... I've resigned myself to it, though, and actually think it's quite a bit of fun most of the time. ^-^ (Rewriting the same story a dozen times because everyone waits until the end to tell me things on page 10 don't work, though... That I do not appreciate.)
