Perhaps less necessary now that Paypal has backed off their policy of quasi-censorship, but still interesting: elf is compiling a list of fiction containing underage sex, rape, incest, and bestiality themes. Some of them are quite well known but not what you'd expect--at least not what I expected!

Aliette de Bodard writes about Sherlock and women. I found this interesting because, while I don't watch Sherlock, I've heard its lack of female characters defended as being true to the original stories. That didn't match up with my memory of the original stories.

junetide signups are open! This is its second year, and last year was lots of fun. It's basically an original fiction gift exchange, along the lines of Yuletide, but set up to coincide with the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere. And, you know, original fiction.
