I was bored at work and I accidentally a language.

Tsaoton is the other major country in the world Gavat is in. I wanted it to have a strong East Asian flavor, so I went to the Wikipedia page on Mandarin and stole most of its phonology and a big chunk of its grammar. (I skipped tones. I don't even know where to begin with tones.)
