Writing, crowdfunding
Aug. 9th, 2011 07:00 pmI made a landing page! It lists all of the original fiction that I have posted on my Dreamwidth journal so far, and I intend to write more, post more, and keep it updated. I'm now also offering a few stories for sponsorship--either to make a story publicly visible or to make me write more of an incomplete story.
I figure that if I'm not getting any traditional novels finished (I'm slowly and sporadically working on revisions to A Girl and Her Ghost), and Chatoyant College very rarely earns me any money, I should at least work on making money from the fiction that I seem to be posting anyway. I'm stealing a few leaves from
aldersprig's book here, as well as
ysabetwordsmith and probably lots of others as well. I have some plans for calls for prompts as well, stealing from those two again ;) I figure even if I don't make any money, it will at least motivate me to write more, and that can only be a good thing.
On the writing topic, I discovered a website, Page Buoy, recently. It's basically online writers' groups. I'm not terribly interested in the concrit aspects--I have this journal, plus email and stuff for that--but I love the idea of creating groups and group goals. Would anyone be interested in signing up and creating a group with me? I think goals are weekly, so weekly wordcount goals? I don't like pressure but I love deadlines, and this seems like peer pressure disguised as a deadline just well enough to fool my subconscious.

Date: 2011-08-10 05:02 am (UTC)As you can see, my commitment level is wishy-washy at best. I suppose it's because I work well within my own constraints, rather than the arbitrary other ones the world seems to be so fond of. But, you never know, I might be able to contribute on some level.
