I have had a couple of days

clare_dragonflyI spent yesterday morning on the phone with two different insurance companies. I think I've gotten all that straightened out now, but I hate talking on the phone and boy was it stressful while I got it straightened out. And then my mom had a party yesterday evening, which, as an introvert, was quite unpleasant. I spent part of the night at a family friend's house, where the heat isn't working--which is way more stressful for her than for me, of course, but I really didn't enjoy trying to accomplish things when I could barely type because it was so cold.
Also, why do people always have to bring their dogs to our house?! Presumably my mom suggested it or at least okayed it, but... I love dogs, but we are all allergic to them. My dad hasn't technically been tested, but based on reactions he is probably allergic to dogs too. More importantly, it stresses the cats out. Most of them will not come out from their hiding places (wherever they manage to hide) while there is a dog in the house. The other one is okay with the dog who is usually here, but the dog who came last night was just about his size, and they got into fights. Some of which were unnecessary, because we specifically tried to separate them, and people just... failed to keep the door closed.
ANYWAY. The most frustrating is today, because my power adapter stopped working! And now my computer won't turn on at all even though it should have battery life left! FUN. Luckily I managed to back up my computer this morning, before the not-turning-on happened, and I have my dad's laptop to use (and write on, though no Scrivener). I ordered a knock-off replacement charger on eBay, which will hopefully come soon but Thanksgiving is in the way, and which I should have ordered days ago because that's when the charger started working intermittently. Augh.
So I'm stressed out and really looking forward to going to the gym tomorrow. And comments will probably be slow or not at all because I'm not used to this computer and I'm not going to save tabs on it, since it's not really mine.
But I love you all.
