15. Mr. Monster by Dan Wells - **** 1/2
Last February I read three books. This is very interesting.
I filled in a bunch more spots on my Reading Bingo. Rebel Heart filled square G5, "the second book in a series"; The 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women filled square N5, "a book that is more than ten years old"; Dreams Underfoot filled square I3, "a book of short stories"; The Telling filled square O5, "a book with a blue cover"; I Am Not a Serial Killer filled square I5, "a book that scares you"; and Mr. Mosnter filled square O2, "a book with a mystery." Still no bingo, but I'll get there soon!
I did not do quite as well with writing, getting just over 30k words done. HOWEVER, I took several days off from writing (after completing the draft of the third book in my YA trilogy! yay!) to edit, and that was really successful. I was able to concentrate on the book I was editing and keep a lot more of it in my head. I cleaned up the verbiage somewhat (I tend to ramble in this series) and found several plot holes/discontinuities--I just hope that I've found them all, or that I will on the next pass. So overall, I consider this a rather successful writing month!
