47. First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones - DNF
48. Polly Oliver's Problem by Kate Douglas Wiggin - ****
49. Reset by MeiLin Miranda - *****
50. Magic's Price by Mercedes Lackey (reread) - ****
August seems to have been a slow month for reading. I think that's just because I've been reading so many books at once that I haven't gotten to the ends of many of them. September should have a longer list!
One book in August counted for the reading bingo: Polly Oliver's Problem filled square N2, "a funny book." That gave me a bingo on line 2. Only three more to go for a blackout!
Near the beginning of this month, when I was getting excited about the Ursulan Cycle and realizing how much I was writing, I looked over the previous months' wordcounts and saw that I wrote the most in January, writing just under 40k words. I set out this month to beat that wordcount, and despite some issues in the last week or so (including getting ready for vacation), I did it! I wrote just over 40k in August.
I'm not going to try to do the same for September, since I'm on vacation with my family again and it's too hectic here for much writing (even now, when the only other people in the house are asleep, I don't feel like I can pull together the concentration for it), but it was fun to do.
