58. Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater - *****
59. North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell - ****
60. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller - ****
61. Raging Star by Moira Young - *** 1/2
62. Earth Unaware by Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston - DNF
I counted one book this month for the reading bingo: Blue Lily, Lily Blue filled square G1, "a book published this year." All I need now for a blackout is the free square (I planned to count the last book I finished this year for that) and "the first book for a favorite author," which I guess I'll reread Tithe for, since I don't think I own the first books by any of my other favorite authors (and am too underemployed* to buy one at the moment).
For NaNo I followed everyone's advice and started writing the second book :D The first one came out around 32k, so I guess it will be a novella trilogy! I'm going to have to go back and add in more world details (I still haven't figured out the tech levels properly), but I doubt it will get more than 1 or 2 thousand words longer.
I actually didn't have much time to plan book 2, since I had to scramble to catch up after my road trip, but it seems to be going well enough. I knew the basic shape of it already and just had to fill in the details. I definitely intend to take some time out between book 2 and book 3 to plan, and that might be a while since the writing will slow down for the holidays and Yuletide!
*I had a phone interview this morning and have an in-person interview next week for the same position! I'm really hopeful about this job!
