Notes: I was going to have her find a weird skeleton, but then I forgot and I'd already wrapped up the story so I didn't want to rewrite it, so maybe that'll be a separate story. I don't have a name for this world yet. I might just call it "prison planet."


They were starting to get used to the cave. Or at least Carla was. It was a strange and surreal thing to have at the back of what appeared to be a museum, but they were lucky it was there—it was their only source of fresh water, and the fish and gulls, while not easy to catch, were their best source of food.( Read more... )

January's Books

A few of my friends have begun posting books they've read, and I thought I'd like to jump back on that bandwagon. A couple of years ago I tried to post books I'd read with reviews, but since I was a) in college and therefore not reading for pleasure as much as I'd like and b) kind of awful at reviews, it didn't go so well. Instead, this time around, I plan to post monthly lists of the books I've finished that month. I won't include reviews, but I will include my personal star ratings (out of five stars).

In related news, I've joined Goodreads, and have probably been spamming all my friends with my addition of 271 books in less than a week. (And I haven't even added all the books I own.) If you're on Goodreads I would love to have more friends! I promise I won't be adding more books quite as quickly!
