January's Books

A few of my friends have begun posting books they've read, and I thought I'd like to jump back on that bandwagon. A couple of years ago I tried to post books I'd read with reviews, but since I was a) in college and therefore not reading for pleasure as much as I'd like and b) kind of awful at reviews, it didn't go so well. Instead, this time around, I plan to post monthly lists of the books I've finished that month. I won't include reviews, but I will include my personal star ratings (out of five stars).

In related news, I've joined Goodreads, and have probably been spamming all my friends with my addition of 271 books in less than a week. (And I haven't even added all the books I own.) If you're on Goodreads I would love to have more friends! I promise I won't be adding more books quite as quickly!

Pride and Prejudice was my introduction to Jane Austen, and still my favorite! Probably because there are letters in it. :D I'm also glad to see you liked The Hunger Games; I bought it last summer and was thinking about starting to read it soon. I may be months off of the hype, but I guess I'm still following it. About to add you on Goodreads! I really love Goodreads.

Pride and Prejudice is the fourth Austen I've read and definitely my favorite so far. I've got the rest of her novels on my Kindle now (yay free books). Yay Goodreads!

Who is Suzanne Collins?

Remember, I don't have a full-time job ;) And I find I read noticeably faster on the Kindle, which accounts for three of the things on the list.

Umm, Suzanne Collins is the author of the rather-incredible-yet-ultimately-unsatisfying trilogy The Hunger Games? I believe she's written some other stuff, too, but this trilogy (YA sci-fi) exploded, deservedly in my opinion.

Heh, I would get a lot more reading done if the internet weren't so distracting! (Of course, I read a lot on the internet too.) My main readings times are during meals, before bed, and I usually get a few paragraphs in every time I open my browser and wait for all the tabs to load.

My husband objects if I read during dinner. :-) I used to get reading done when I was waiting for the bus - bus much further away from my new apartment.
