Huh, thought I didn't read much in August, but that's a fair amount of books. Especially since I finished them all. I finally got to read Spell Bound, after checking it out of the library twice before and failing to read it before I had to return it! And it was really good--I definitely recommend that trilogy, which starts with Hex Hall, to YA fantasy fans.

My daughter (12) and I really enjoyed the Hex Hall trilogy. She kept taking the books while I was trying to read them!

Also; Insurgent is in my library pile. Tell me it's as good as the previous book. I have high hopes for it.

Actually, that gives me hope for it. I don't generally get disappointed if I know a book is the middle one of a trilogy. It's like, Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars movie and that suffered a lot from MBS. But now I know to be aware of it, and will adjust my thinking accordingly. :D

I have finished Insurgent! And yes, it most definitely suffered from Middle Book Syndrome.

However. It did tell a very important part of the story in my opinion. It gave us the reason for the society the way it was, for how things broke apart, and explained why the fence was bloody important.

It does make me wish that the next book would hurry the hell up, because I'm interested to see how the entire thing wraps up. If it wraps up.

So yes. Definitely a middle book, but I still enjoyed it!
