“H. G.?” Myka’s voice came out as a squeak. “A little help here?”
H. G.’s eyes widened, and she walked slowly around where Myka hung from the Warehouse shelves, suspended by the rigging rope from the Mary Celeste. She met Myka’s eyes, and slowly and deliberately licked her lips.
“No,” she said, her voice sweet and husky. “I think you’re just right up there.”
Myka smiled. “I didn’t say you had to get me down right away. Just be careful—don’t touch it yourself.”
H. G. laughed. “We are of one mind, as always, Myka.”
Her hands were soft.
